Default Tattered Girl's Cape

Is there any use for this yet?
Earlier in Lions Arch, someone was looking to buy one and originally offered a Kuunavang Miniature for it. I checked guildwiki to see if there was anything new about the cape and there was no update on it so i sold it for 100k (guy changed his mind about the miniature).

Anyways, this guy said he wanted it for GW:EN.. although personally i think they wouldn't make use of a discontinued item.. Anyone think i got royally ripped off or made a whopping great profit for an item i found about 18 months ago?

There is no use for it.

It is the cape of the Character Gwen you meet in pre-Searing.You can also find her broken flute.

He could have purchased it because GW:EN will also have Gwen in it.Although there is no connection for exchanging items between the games,it is useless.

Well, there is rumors of Gwen being in GW:EN(funny that ) and gwen was the origional owner of the tatterd girls cape(seemingly), obviously before it was tattered.

This leads to ideas that it will be useful for some sort of quest, or item, or bonus or anything for someone that has it, hence i reckon just before the GW:EN release you will find them on sale for quite a bit, but who knows, maybe you did make a profit on a useless item, or possibly you could have sold the key to a special quest.

we shall just have to wait and see........

I'd say it's a shame you haven't got 10 of them I don't know of any uses for this cape, but like you, I sincerely doubt Anet will be using this discontinued item in GW:EN. Players who just started playing Guild Wars never had a chance obtaining this item, so they shouldn't favor the people who did.

Whoever bought it is speculating on how valuable/useful it will be in GW:EN.
Personally, I think you made a heck of a deal.

I think you made a great deal. I was also going around looking to buy one myself (since by the time I got to where it dropped in the game... it was removed by ANET)... but then I decided to not bother.

I can't imagine ANET discontinuing an item like the Tattered Girl's Cape and then making it a key to unlock some kind of bonus in GW:EN. If it did unlock some kind of bonus... I would think ANET would put it back in the game as a drop or have some other method of accessing it (rather than causing the existing ones in the game to later shoot into the 100k + Ectos price because of limited supply).

Why, if it's been taken out, do people think that it can't be put back? There are still several months between now and GW:EN. I wouldn't necessarily unload any TGCs until we know for sure, one way or the other. It's not like it's a storage breaker anymore.

Sure you can, thats how you're able to see items from all 3 campaigns at any of the merchant outposts (LA, Kaineng, Kamadan).

As for the TGC, if they end up using it, it would be more probable that the item will be reintroduced into the game. I think it is more likely that existing items will be used, such as the Perserved Iris Flower and the Broken Flute, maybe even the Iris Flowers and Tapestry Shreds.
